What a weekend.
Seriously.
I. AM. SPENT.
After having way to much fun these last two days, I am ready for one long nap. The bad news is that ain’t gonna happen today. The good news is I get so spend the rest of today with my fasha on this wonderful FATHER’S DAY!!!!
HAPPY FATHERS DAY DADDY!!!!!!!!!!!! I love you very much 🙂 (he reads my blog too ya know ;))
I suppose I should rewind for you guys all the way to Friday afternoon where I munched on this little plate:
I had this as more of a “brunch” Friday, because I woke up late and wasn’t really hungry until a little while later.
SIDE NOTE: WHAT IS THIS CRAP ABOUT KOMBUCHA BEING TAKEN OFF THE SHELVES UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE DUE TO THE INCORRECT ALCOHOL CONTENT!!!?????? (For any of you that have never even heard of kombucha, it is a fermented tea that results in a natural alcohol but, by no means, will get you DRUNK) For the record, you do not have to be 21 to buy these guys and the are marketed for their supposed great health benefits (which is why I drink them, personally. I swear a kombucha a day will take ANY hangover away ;)). When Reggie texted me this morning the news about our beloved kombucha, I was crushed. It’s a sad day in food blog world, thats fo sho.
Anyway…
A few hours later, my little bro and I went to an early dinner before his show. He is in a Christian youth acting camp right now and they put on awesome performances. This time, they were performing a shortened version of Les Misérables.
We grabbed a quick bite at a place called “Create,” which offers a lot of organic and all-natural fare, along with some good comfort foods, burgers, salads and…the list goes on…
I was feeling carby…and fishy (heh)…so I rolled with a tuna melt. Something I almost NEVER order, but I’m glad I did!

Challah bread (holllly yum). Side of homemade potato chips that I didn't eat. I'm not a big potato chip girl.
I don’t usually order tuna melts (or any tuna salad, for that matter) at a restaurant, because they’re usually drowned in mayonnaise and just not my cup of tea. This tuna melt, however, was not as such. There was barely any mayo, if any, used and it was seasoned awesomely with some chopped onion and tomatoes added in. Swiss cheese was used to melt it all together in a heavenly tuna delight.
My dinner also came with a side salad with homemade balsamic vinaigrette. ‘Twas bomb.
Here is my handsome dinner date:
We finished off our dinner with a little Mexican fortune cookie
Interesting, no?
After dinner, it was time for my little bro’s theatre production. My parents met up with us to see the little rascals do their thang on stage.
They were awesome and they even threw in a little hip-hop dance out of nowhere. Now hip-hop is something I know, having taken dance studio classes in hip-hop for almost 6 years. He did a darn good job.
This is me being proud of him:
Once back at mi casa, I had this little snack to hold me through the rest of the evening (well, most of it) before things got a little crazy.
Then, it was time for a night on the town with my ladies.
Oh boy.
It started off calm, and laid-back as such:
Then, we hit another bar which turned into this:
and this…
and all this…
Then, we made friends…
They invited us back to their place.
Now, we are not exactly the girls to just hitch rides back to random people’s houses, hoping for the best and throwing all caution out the window. BUT, when a group of air force fighter pilots happen to ask you back to their mansion…no, really…and by LIMO, then it’s a different story.
Mama always told me not to get into cars with strangers. She never specified limos, though.
That’s when things got a little craycray
And a classic picture for the evening:
We ended up crashing in the guys’ spare bedroom since it was umm…ya 6 am and we had no way of getting home. Clearly, we didn’t think things through before venturing out to Egypt with the strangers. You only live once, right?
Reggie and I spooned for a good two and a half hours in the small bed until we woke up to the bright sun shining in our eyes and some groggy boys around the house wanting breakfast.
Breakfast? Need I say more?
A group of us went here:
I was STARVVIIIINNNG (even though I ate another luna bar at like 5 am…obviously, unpictured)
Enter buckwheat, blueberry pancakes:
Buckwheat pancakes are AWESOME. Try them. Eat them. Enjoy them. I know you will 🙂
The best quote during our delusional (only having about 2 hours of sleep) breakfast was:
“Pancakes are like better than birthday cake for breakfast, because if you order birthday cake for breakfast people will judge you.”
– Air Force Boy
Later on, after a little nappy-poo and an unannounced walk-in from our landlord with 6 random people looking to rent our house next semester (ummm hello come on in. Don’t even get me started on THAT awkwardness), I ate this for lunch:
This bowl had one soy blueberry yogurt (Whole Soy brand), about 1/2 cup of that red berry flax cereal, a handful of blueberries, and one chopped up nectarine. Just what the hangover doctor ordered ;).
I then tried to stop the effects of alcohol from manipulating my body into having the worst headache of my life and I went to Zumba. Sometimes sweating out all the fun from the night before (that ain’t feeling too fun the next day) is the only way to make myself feel alive again.
I felt awesome afterwards.
Later on in the evening, Reg, Kittykat and I went out for dinner at a cute, Asian restaurant after I did a little Father’s Day gift shopping ;).
We started off with diet cokes all around. My vice has been getting the best of me lately, what can I say.
Reg and Kittykat also started off with some edamame, while I ordered a cup of the vegetarian hot and sour soup.
The soup was alright, nothing to write home about and a little too salty for my taste, but whatev. I was at the passing-out-i’m-so-hungry phase at this point.
For my dinner, Reg and I ordered the same asian-style tofu dish with the sauce on the side and with brown rice. I also asked them to throw in a little pineapple to the mix for a little taste contrast.
I ate pretty much all the rice and about half of the main dish. I was feeling carby.
After dinner, Reg and I went out for a little fro-yo. You know, to balance out the meal, of course ;).
I ended up eating only the vanilla part of this, because the chocolate wasn’t that good. Also, I was quite stuffed at this point.
Now, after eating and nursing a killer hangover all day (ugh, classy Anna, real classy), you’d think that this girl would be going straight to bed at this point.
Trust me, I had every intention of doing so. I mean, four hours of sleep just doesn’t cut it in my world, but then my good friend “Banana boy” called me up and invited me to Kev’s and it all went down hill from there.
They were all partaking in a power hour of doing one shot of beer per minute. Hi, no thanks. I nursed my one dos-equis for the night and watched everyone else go off their rockers. It was quite amusing.
The only pictures I have to document the event are as follows:
Once everyone else was sufficiently tanked, the dancing commenced
It was a blasty blast. Banana boy and I salsa danced for hours and everyone else busted moves all around. It was quite enjoyable. We hit up their neighbors party for a little bit, also (sorry, no pics) but then, only a good hour later, we were all spent. We all ended up crashing back at Kev’s and when everyone else awoke this morning to go to breakfast, I took my booty HOME.
Now, it is past noon and I have still yet to eat something. Who am I? I am starving, that’s who.
I’m off to go to lunch with the pops and little bro and catch a movie!!!
P.s. did you all notice the quality of my pictures are back to fab??? Lil’ N sent me my charger (YAYYYYYY!!!) so many pictures will be back on the bloggy (as already demonstrated in this post).
Hope you all have a wonderful Father’s Day and treat those fashas well!
xoxo
